The phone kept buzzing, but whenever I picked up, there was just silence on the other end.

I got a call from someone claiming to be BT saying there had been dodgy stuff happening on my IP address. Pretty funny, really! I asked for a callback number, and they gave me what they said was the official BT number. I called it from my mobile to see if it was legit, and BT told me there were no problems with my line and that they hadn’t called me at all. Definitely a SCAM, without a doubt.

Some lady rang me saying she was from BT and somehow already had both my mobile and landline numbers. I said I wasn’t convinced it was really them, and she just hung up on me. Later on, I got a message from 64364 that said it was BT, giving me a one-time PIN but didn’t explain what I was supposed to use it for. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.
