2 yearsI didn't pick up and let it go to voicemail, where a recorded voice claimed I had outstanding payments of £300 to Amazon and over £1000 for some international charges (just realised this is the exact same message someone else mentioned getting!). It said to press 1 to do something, but the voicemail ended before finishing. Either way, I've blocked the number now.Amazon2 yearsGot a voicemail from some "security team" saying there was suspicious activity on my account, but they didnt mention which bank or anything. Talked about unauthorised charges for around £300 on Amazon and £1000 abroad, then told me to press 1 to approve or 2 to talk to someone. Total scam, obviously. This isn’t the first time I’ve gotten one like this either.Amazon2 yearsThere was a lot of background chatter like a call centre, then they just hung up when I answered. They called my mum’s phone, so I guess they were looking for someone older? Feels like another scam trying to catch people who might be easy targets.2 yearsI received a call from 02085247585, claiming to be from BT Openreach. They informed me that my IP address had been compromised and was switched from private to public, putting my personal information at risk. Strangely, they reached out to my work number, which is definitely a business line, not meant for such matters. When I mentioned that I didn’t own a computer, she inquired about my mobile phone’s make and urged me to visit some peculiar website, w3c reconfigure or something along those lines. Naturally, I didn’t comply and told her I’d ring back - which, of course, I didn’t. She did give me her name and an 0800 number to get in touch with her again, but that didn’t happen either.BT OpenreachSubmit Your Own Report (020 8524 7585)
