They were acting like they were from my phone company.

A bloke named Ali rang me up saying I'd been in a car crash recently. I told him I’ve never even got behind the wheel, but he just didn’t seem to care. He kept going, asking if maybe one of my relatives had been involved instead. When I said the line was rubbish and kept dropping out, like holding the phone far away, he said he’d try again tomorrow. Haha, wonder if he’s got a laugh waiting for him when he does! ✌🤣💦

I reckon this person found my number through some ad on Gumtree. Trying to argue with them is pointless since they call from overseas, mostly India, so our rules don't really affect them. The only thing you can do is just block their number.

They said they worked for some accident recovery firm and wanted me to make a claim for an accident. I just told them to go find a proper honest company to be with.

Finally got through to a person instead of one of those dead silent calls, I kept cutting him off asking if I could speak to him, then told him to shove off. Honestly, why do we have to put up with this constant nuisance? There has gotta be a way to put an end to this invasion of our privacy and all the bother these types cause.

I got loads of calls from someone in Pakistan using different numbers, they kept saying there was an accident but it’s all a scam. Honestly the best thing is to hang up straight away, give ’em a mouthful or just don’t pick up at all.

A mate of mine got one of these calls. When they asked about an accident, he just said, “I’ve had two, which one d’you mean?” The caller got all hyped up and told him he could claim compensation for both. My mate was like, “No way, that’s great! The cops said both were my fault and I’ve got a hearing next week.” Then the caller suddenly hung up.

i've set up an answerphone on my phone sayin anyone who rings should leave a message. i mention that if i dont know the number, i wont answer, and if they dont leave a msg, i aint callin back. since doing this, ive had way less dodgy calls. if I do get any, like the one today, i look it up here for reviews and then block the number straight away.

it came across like a bloke from the traffic dept or summat. he asked if i knew anyone living at my place who had a car crash within the past couple years. i said no accidents here. then he said maybe it wasnt my accident but someone else’s at the address. i said nope, no one. he said sorry and cheers for answering.

Got a call from one of those ambulance chasing firms trying to get me to claim compensation for an accident. When I mentioned the new GDPR rules and asked how they got my phone number, they really struggled to answer. I work in insurance, and honestly, these companies should be outlawed because they just ramp up claims costs, pushing everyone’s premiums higher. It’s a pity this number isn’t flagged anywhere so i could report them to the ICO.
