Got a call earlier about my missus’s Glaxo shares. I told them she sold those off ages back, but then they started talking about some 'different' Glaxo shares. I told them straight up that it sounded dodgy to me. Next thing I know, they just cut me off!

On the evening of 4th August 2023, about 6pm, I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who was keen on purchasing my Centrica shares because of some takeover going on. She claimed her firm already owned 42% of the shares and needed mine to hit 51% for control. It was a bit unsettling how much she seemed to know about me! Since I didn’t ask for the call, I suspected it might be dodgy, so I told her to send me the offer in writing. Now I’m just waiting to see if anything turns up in the post!

Got a call from someone with a really thick foreign accent saying it was about shares in Centrica and that the company might be getting taken over. I checked the news and there was nothing about that, plus Centrica itself says these kind of calls are scams, so I didn’t trust it.
