I recently received a visiting card from Burleys Tree Services, based at 32 Lubbock Road, Chislehurst, BR7 5QR. Their toll-free number is 0800 474 8716. They had left the card to offer their services for tree and shrub removal, and we arranged for them to visit. However, I needed to reschedule the appointment. After no response for several days, I attempted to reach out again. Eventually, I got a callback from a gentleman who apologised for the delay but then abruptly insisted they could swing by immediately to deal with some rather large trees. I explained that I needed to discuss it with my neighbour first, and that’s when things took a dreadful turn. He accused me of wasting his time, then proceeded to hurl vile racial slurs at me, proclaiming that he could tell I didn’t belong here simply by the tone of my voice. It was the most blatant episode of racial abuse I've ever encountered, and it cut deep. It left me feeling hurt and bewildered.
