They ended up swearing at me out of nowhere.

A guy rang me saying he was from EE and wanted to know what I pay for my phone each month. He then offered me half price on the line rental, sounded fishy. When he asked which provider I had, I told him EE straight away. After that, I suspected he was a scammer, so I asked him to tell me my current plan details. He couldn’t, so I ended the call pretty quickly.
