They claimed I had £600 sitting in a Bitcoin investment account, which I found rather odd. In the past, I had invested small amounts with a few different brokers, but the relentless cold calls urging me to invest more became tiresome, so I decided to cut my losses and distance myself from them entirely. When Broker (X) asked for my age, I questioned why it mattered. He claimed it was just small talk, but I told him my age was none of his business. He then accused me of being rude, to which I pointed out that he had called me out of the blue without an introduction. The conversation shifted as he inquired if I wanted to withdraw my funds or continue trading; I clearly stated I wanted to withdraw. I asked him why, if he had my details, he couldn't just send me a cheque. He suggested downloading “AnyDesk” for a transfer, and I went along with it only to deny him access repeatedly when he attempted to connect to my iPad. He became quite irate, insisting that something must be wrong with my device. Then he suggested using “MoonPay”, which I agreed to, only for him to send me a Bitcoin purchase ID to buy £350. I couldn’t understand why I should spend £350 if he was supposedly holding £600 for me. "That's not how we operate, sir," he told me. In the end, I had enough of this nonsense and hung up. He persisted with calls until I blocked his number, yet they continued to ring me from various other numbers. It was quite entertaining, I must admit, as he seemed to believe he could outsmart me in his little scam. It’s alarming how some scammers exist devoid of any moral compass, living as if they are immune to the basic decencies of society.
