7 yearsToday, on the 28th of October 2019 at 10:01 AM, I received a rather peculiar phone call. An Indian-accented woman introduced herself as a representative from BT Openreach, claiming they had been observing my phone line's download speeds. She asked if I could switch on my computer so she could investigate my router, suggesting it might be malfunctioning. Quite fishy, don’t you think? When I mentioned that I had actually checked my speeds just the previous evening-something I regularly incorporate into my tech upkeep-and everything was functioning within the expected parameters, she hastily ended the conversation.
