Got a call from someone claiming to be from EE, saying they were upgrading my account and even ordering me a new phone. They told me because I’ve been a loyal customer for ages, I’d get a hamper and 35% off all my future bills. Thing is, the guy had this really thick Indian accent which felt a bit off. So I rang EE directly and they told me they never hand out hampers or that kind of discount to long-term customers. Turns out, those scammers had already updated my account and placed an order for a new phone without my permission. Proper dodgy, so watch out!
