I received a rather peculiar phone call earlier. The caller not only addressed me by my name but also claimed that my washing machine's warranty was up for renewal. I was taken aback, as I had no idea I even had one! He seemed utterly certain that I did. When I probed him about the purchase date, he mentioned it was back in October 2012. I challenged him on whether the warranty was truly for ten years, to which he adamantly confirmed that it was indeed correct and that it had expired today, of all days! I casually mentioned that I didn't mind, as I was in the market for a new machine anyway. Strangely enough, he abruptly hung up after that. Quite bizarre, don’t you think?

It went directly to voicemail, accompanied by an odd buzzing sound before the call was dropped. My Samsung has a nifty feature that blocks scam calls, yet they still manage to leave inane messages. I’ve made it a personal rule not to respond to unfamiliar numbers; just doesn't sit right with me.
