This was a complete scam, they tried acting like they were from BT.

Got a call from a man with a foreign accent claiming he was from some internet security thing. Said our IP address had been exposed and anyone could get into our internet. I didn’t really trust it and told him I’d handle it on my own. Probably a scam.
