They rang me a staggering five times before I finally picked up on the sixth attempt. I just couldn’t hold back and ended up having a right go at them! They’re incredibly tenacious. I might just sit here with a whistle handy for when they try again...

Today, I received a call from a chap claiming to be providing tech support for Windows, insisting there was an "issue" with my computer. The accent was distinctly Indian, a familiar tone linked to such scams. He requested that I turn on my device so he could reveal some so-called hidden malware lurking in the system. Thankfully, I’m not gullible enough to take the bait. In a rather brazen attempt, he even remarked on my fingers, specifying that my middle digit was the longest - clearly meant as some sort of insult. I simply replied that if that was the case, it was aimed squarely at him, and promptly ended the call. Quite a distressing experience, to be honest!

I received a call intended for a Mrs Jones, but as soon as I inquired about the address they were after, they simply terminated the call. Quite peculiar!

I received a call from an individual sporting an unmistakable Indian accent, who claimed to represent a (the name was a bit muffled) tech support firm. They wanted me to navigate to a particular website on my computer to address some imagined issue with my RAM. The chap seemed to have worked out that I owned a Mac by inquiring about the keys on my keyboard. Soon enough, I was shifted to another person who insisted I switch to one of my Windows machines instead. At this point, I lost my patience and firmly told them to scram as they were just frittering away my time. They were rather irate after I hung up, and proceeded to bombard me with calls again. Eventually, I mentioned my registration with the Telephone Preference Service, pointing out that they had no business contacting me in the first place. Thankfully, this seemed to do the trick, and they ceased their incessant ring-backs.

I've experienced similar problems. Just got a dodgy call urging me to check out a website to sort out my business-managed computer. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
