I got a recorded call out of the blue from a woman speaking with a British accent, claiming to be from ‘BT Internet’. She said there was some ‘suspicious activity’ on my connection and threatened to cut off my internet and landline unless I pressed 1 to talk to an ‘executive’ about fixing it. Classic BT scam trying to scare you into pressing a button. Don’t fall for it, especially if you’re not even a BT user like me. The best thing to do is just hang up and block the number. Ignore the whole thing.
