I have the TPS list on my phone and always block unknown callers - they get sent straight to voicemail where there's a message saying we only pick up for genuine callers. This one just hung up without leaving anything! Another scammer wasting my time, no doubt!

I just got a call from a guy with an Indian accent. He used my name and wanted me to confirm my address, saying it was info from the police. When I asked which company he was with, he claimed to be from Marks & Spencer. Then, when I asked for his name, he said "Steven Smith," which sounded a bit fishy. I asked what the call was about and he just hung up on me.

Got a call from this number looking for my husband, but when I asked who was speaking, the line went dead. I never said a word about my name or anything. What’s strange is my husband passed away ages ago. Watch out for this number!

Some woman rang asking if I was the woman who used to live at my address. When I asked what she wanted, she said it was a feedback call from Marks & Spencer and asked me to verify my name. I told her I wasn’t that person and gave her a made-up name instead. She just said thanks and ended the call. I wonder if I’ll get loads of calls now using that false name!

I usually just wait to hear someone properly talking before I say anything - if it’s one of those silent calls or recordings, I just stay quiet. Most of the time their auto system picks up on it and ends the call before I even get a chance to talk. Makes it easier not dealing with them at all.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent. When I asked, she claimed to be calling from Marks and Spencer and wanted me to verify something on their behalf. I checked with M&S but there was no record of it. After that, she just ended the call abruptly.

I got a call from someone who spoke with an accent, claiming to be from Marks & Spencer. I was suspicious from the start and reckon he wasn’t telling the truth. He asked if my washing machine was older than a year. Mine’s almost 10 years old and about to be replaced, so I said yes. He mentioned someone else would be in touch soon and then just hung up. I tried ringing the number back to confirm it was really M&S, but the line was busy. With all this fancy tech we have, including sites like this one, why on earth can’t these annoying calls be stopped?

The call came from overseas, definitely a spoofed number. A woman with an Indian accent was speaking ridiculously fast. She started asking for my address, which was out of date by three years, showing they probably bought some outdated list. I didn’t play along. I reckon the best way to shake these callers is to sound annoyed and rude. So I just said, "What do you want? Just spit it out." She rambled a bit but then quickly hung up. Sorted.

I told him no one by that name lives here and he suddenly lost it, throwing insults like why I didn’t just say it was the wrong number, calling me a muppet. I told him to jog on. Proper dodgy scammer, could really wind some folks up for sure.

Got a call around half past eleven from someone saying they were Daniel at Marks and Spencer’s. When I replied with just a ‘yes?’, they immediately dropped the call. The voice didn’t sound real, more like one of those robotic scam calls. Best to just ignore it!

Got a call from 0208 368 6824 and the person on the other end was really hard to understand. They asked me to verify my postcode but when I asked who they were, they mumbled some name followed by "electronics" but refused to say it properly. Then they just cut me off. Tried calling back but the line was busy, so I couldn't check if it was a real electronics firm or not. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

This number rang me twice last few days. First time i missed it and no voicemail left. When i picked up the second time, they just hung up straight away. Its a typical scam call - these quick hang-ups are just bots trying to see if someone answers. Lately ive been getting loads of these fake calls from people pretending to be bt, virgin, talk talk or sky support, saying there’s an issue with my broadband. They call from all sorts of numbers but a lot start with 020 and sound like they’re from india or nearby countries. Ive blocked this number now to be safe.
