I received a call earlier today from someone claiming to represent the IT department at PC WIZARDS. He requested that I hop onto my laptop and input some codes using the Ctrl and Windows keys. I kept the conversation going for a solid quarter of an hour, explaining that I didn’t have a laptop to hand, yet he was insistent that I should find one. During our chat, he introduced himself as Sam Wilson and provided a number to ring him back on once I managed to get my hands on a laptop. The number he gave me was 0909 2348670. Eventually, he grew quite irritated with my persistence on asking questions and abruptly ended the call.

I had a similar experience this morning. They were pretending to represent PC World.

I received a call where the bloke was masquerading as my wife's caller. He claimed he was reaching out regarding a computer issue. But when I probed further to find out which computer he meant, his response was the one that runs Windows! I insisted that nobody from our home had made any inquiries about a computer, and then he just cut the line without any further ado. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
