The guy wasn’t very polite yesterday - same bloke called again just now, says his name is ‘John’ with an Indian accent. Got a call from 07869605351, but when I tried to ring back it said the number isn't recognised. The guy, speaking with an Asian accent, told me his name was Robin. He knew my name alright, but when he said a postcode out loud that wasn’t mine and I told him it was wrong, he seemed really surprised and just hung up. Proper strange!

Some guy called himself Adam, spoke English with an Indian accent. He said he had just three quick questions that'd only take about 30 seconds. He even mentioned my full address and asked if it was right. When he then wanted to know what age group I belonged to, I told him I wasn’t willing to answer any more personal stuff unless he explained why he was calling. He didn’t say and seemed pretty eager to keep me talking. That made me suspicious, so I didn’t go any further. Even though the chat was short, I felt pretty harassed by the call.

Just got a ring from someone called "Amy" claiming to be from You Benefits, sounded like she had a really strong Indian accent. The number showed up as 07837728906 when I checked with 1471. She actually knew my name and where I live, even though I only said my name out loud. When I asked what You Benefits actually was, she just ended the call straight away.

I had a rather unpleasant experience with a rather unpleasant caller at my workplace. This individual was exceedingly rude and rather forceful, outright refusing to engage with me and insisting that I transfer him straight to our Director. Quite uncalled for, if you ask me!

We’ve had a couple of calls come through to our Sheffield line. First, a woman calling asking for a "teenager". Then, a man called asking for our daughter - he even knew her name and address!!! Really makes you wonder where they got all that info from. When I questioned him, the bloke said he was calling from South East Asia. Didn’t realise our benefits system reached that far! The calls came from 01246 723658. BE CAREFUL.. this is definitely a SCAM!!!!!!

There’s this bloke who sounds ‘Asian’ calling me at least 3 times a week. It’s not the first time either! I’m proper annoyed with it all. I always say the same thing, “Take me off your list,” but this time he said, “I won’t, ma’am, I’ll call you every day.” This was at 8:40 in the morning. My mum is disabled and deaf, she’s got this vibrating alert under her pillow for fires but it also buzzes when the phone rings. As you can guess, it really upsets her. She gets anxious and I’ve got to calm her down, then it takes ages for her to get back to sleep.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent who said he was phoning about my benefits and had just 3 simple questions for my household, taking only 20 seconds. Just got a call from someone called "Richard" claiming to be from "UK Benefits" - I told him there’s no such place and he was clearly having a go at scamming me. He tried to say if it was a scam he’d be asking for money, but I told him I didn’t buy it and he’s obviously just trying to con people, which won’t work with me. He started trying to defend himself, so I just hung up. Maybe from now on we should tell these lot we’ve got the line monitored and the police are onto them - might spook them a bit, which is what they do to others.

Just got a call from some bloke called "Richard" claiming to be from "UK Benefits" - I told him that dept doesn't exist and he’s clearly trying to con me. He argued that if it was a scam he’d be asking for cash, but I told him I’m not interested and it’s obvious he’s up to no good. He tried to deny it, so I just hung up. I reckon next time we should say the call is being recorded and traced, and that the cops are onto him - might scare him off since he’s scaring loads of others too.

Next time the bloke called, I asked to speak to his manager to complain about the constant ringing, but he wouldn't put me through and started being rude. I've asked them to remove me from their list but no idea if they actually will. I'm really sick of having to keep dropping what I'm doing to pick up calls I never wanted in the first place. I get loads of calls from UK benefits, often up to three times daily, mostly early in the morning about 9am and then again later on. My son, who used to be with the Fraud Squad at the City of London Police, advised me to tell them they’re under investigation, fingers crossed it stops. It’s really annoying - we’re both old and disabled, so it’s not always easy to reach the phone. I thought these con artists had been cracked down on by now.

Just got a call saying they were from Benefits, but it came from a mobile number. I picked up thinking it might be about my lad at a sports camp. Benefits uk rings me nearly every day, sometimes even 10 times a day. It’s getting really annoying and feels like harassment. I’ve told them loads of times I’m not interested and to stop calling! I’m disabled and my dad’s quite old, so we often wait for important calls but miss them because these idiots keep calling and clogging the line. The lady was polite but very pushy, saying I had to answer her questions before they’d remove me from their call list. She started by asking for my name and address. Theres this firm named You Benefit that keeps ringing me up, proper persistent and I really dont think they’re legit. Each time the number they show is different, often with random area codes like Sheffield or Gloucester. When I attempt to call back, the number just isn’t valid. Benefits UK keeps ringing me 3 times, that cheap phone with some thick Asian accent. So pushy, really annoying. Last week one of em even called me crazy. I'm seriously over these calls even tho I try blocking them.

I get calls like this almost every week for around a year now, saying they’re from UK benefits. I’ve told them loads of times to stop and that I don’t talk to strangers on the phone, but they just keep ringing anyway.

Benefits UK kept ringing me non stop - being polite didn’t seem to get through to them - finally I said ‘just so you know, this call is being recorded for a probe into UK Benefits and scam calls, do you still want to carry on?’ - they ended the call quick and never bothered me again.

Another number they’re using is 02081808778. Like many here, they knew my name and said they had “3 questions about your household”. When I asked who they were, he just said “I’ve already told you, I’m calling from your benefits and will only ask these 3 questions then never call again”. I wasn’t in the mood for any of it, so I said no and hung up. Gotta admit, it was oddly funny hearing him whining “why? Why? Why?” as I ended the call.

Got a call from someone with a typical Indian accent but a very British sounding name, claiming to be from UK benefits. Told her to get lost, and she fired back calling me white trash and said she hoped I’d d##, then just hung up.

They're calling me nonstop these days. After a few annoyed replies, now I say all nice and polite, 'Just one moment please.' Then I carefully put the phone down on something soft and get on with my stuff while they just babble on. Might be costing them some dosh, but honestly, it's satisfying to bug them back like they bug me.

For more than a year I kept getting calls from UK Benefits asking me to fill out a survey. At first it was just once a month but then it went up to a couple of times a week. No matter how much I told them off, and believe me I was pretty blunt, they just wouldnt stop ringing. Finally I turned on sky shield and havent had a call from them since.

Got a call again from Benefits UK. The bloke wanted me to do a survey but I told him I don't get any benefits. He said that wasn’t the point of the survey. Told him I work nights and asked them to stop calling me, wishing they'd respect GDPR rules. The guy was pretty rude, so I said if the call's recorded, I’ll be reporting them to the watchdog because of how many times they keep ringing me. He wouldn’t listen and just hung up.

Benefits UK keep ringing me, like six times just this past week, and today it was from 01594510368. Can't seem to find out who owns that number. Every time I tell them to take me off their list, they just don’t listen and call again. Think I might have to try a different approach, maybe blow a football whistle at them, see if that scares them off.

I've been getting loads of calls from Benefits UK and even though I've blocked their number, they just ring from a different one. My suggestion is if you don't know the number, just don't pick up. If you don't have caller ID, answer the phone but as soon as you hear 'Benefits UK' or someone you don't know, hang up straight away. No matter what the rules say about UK firms, calls from abroad probably won't let up.

Keeps calling me over and over, asking for my info. Im getting fed up and might reply harshly if it carries on. The person sounds Indian and never says who they actually are. I searched this site and found out more about them. Cant block because they call from different numbers each time. They’re sure to catch someone eventually, coz there’s loads of vulnerable people who fall for these scams.

01952 391620 Claims to be Benefits UK. Got about 11 calls in just a couple days. When I answered, the guy, who obviously knew the homeowners name, asked for them. He had an Indian accent and abruptly got quite rude and even started threatening me when I mentioned I was recording the call for data protection reasons and asked him for a UK registered address. I kept the recording and told him I'd be reporting the calls to the police for harassment.

Got a call from Beneficial today, number was ‭020 3775 2312. I never agreed to them holding my info or ringing me like this, surely that’s not allowed under GDPR? This all kicked off about 3 years ago when my daughter gave them my phone as an extra contact after her parked car got hit. She wasn’t in it but got a ticket and witnessed the accident. Since then, I've been bombarded with calls from accident claim companies and others nonstop. Isn’t GDPR supposed to stop them sharing my details like this? Feels like they’re breaking the law.

The guy on the phone, who sounded like he was from India, wouldn't take no for an answer and said they'd keep ringing me non-stop unless I answered all their questions. Got a call again from some benefit scam in the UK. They wanted to talk to the “man of the house” but I just asked them for the name of the person they needed. Of course, they couldn’t give me a proper name - these scammers don’t even have a clue who they’re targeting. This one guy got really rude and started swearing loudly, proper threatening me down the line. Sounded like he was from India or somewhere in Asia, maybe. Seriously, we should be raising this with the Indian embassy! Benefits UK is a total con, and it’s run from outside Britain. The Indian authorities really ought to step up and take these scammers down properly. We should get our MPs involved to push the Indian government into taking real action. It’s not hard to find where these dodgy calls come from. As for me, I’m set on campaigning for a trade boycott with India until they show they’re serious about cracking down on these fraudsters. The Benefits UK scam has dragged on for far too long now.

Yet again, I got a call from Benefits UK. I block their number but then they ring me from somewhere else... I can't ignore these calls because I've lost my dog and I’m always hoping it might be the news I’m desperate for. I’m so frustrated - what’s the government doing about stopping these annoying calls? I got a call on my landline from someone claiming to be from Benefits UK. The woman had an Indian accent and knew my name straight away. Before sharing any info, I asked her to explain what Benefits UK was all about. She said she couldn't share any personal details about the company. I told her it sounded odd that I was supposed to give my details without knowing anything about them! Eventually, she admitted it was a British company located in Esher. I said I wasn't interested in answering anything and asked her to remove me from their contact list, which she agreed to do.

Just tell them you’re near your computer and can pull up their company registration number on the Companies House website to see who the directors are. They usually hang up straight away.

I've had calls from Benefits UK ringing me up about four times within a couple of hours. Every time I add their number to my phone's block list, they just ring again from a different one. We're registered with the TPS, but when I reported it, they told me the number can't be traced so there's nothing they can do. Quite frustrating!
