I received a call from a woman who introduced herself as Shirley. She informed me to press 1 if I needed to speak with a technician and warned that our internet would be switched off within the next 24 hours, by tomorrow to be precise.

I received a call claiming to be from our broadband provider-strangely, they didn’t bother to mention their name. They warned me that our IP address had been compromised and stated that if we didn’t act immediately, they would disconnect our service within 12 hours. I hung up before they could finish their spiel.
