I received a call from this number today, purporting to be from British Gas, concerning my gas bill. The caller insisted on conducting a security verification and wanted my permission to proceed. When I firmly declined, he then asked me to ring British Gas directly. Naturally, I was not about to do that. My instincts were tingling! Having searched for this number now-thank goodness for this service!

It's quite unsettling, to say the least, how frequent it is.

We've been getting quite a few annoying calls from 02083381223, and it’s evident they’re coming from India. It seems like they're trying to talk about energy accounts, as per the British Gas Help section. One of the callers even had the audacity to say it was "urgent"! I tried ringing British Gas at 08000480404, but none of the options on the automated line seemed to fit my issue. We really wish we could opt out, but apparently, it’s not an option for customer service communications. It’s all rather frustrating, to be honest.
