This dodgy scam call just kept going even after I hung up, had to actually unplug the phone to stop it!

Every time the phone rings and I answer, I'm greeted by nothing but dead air. Strangely, even after I hang up, the line remains open. The only way to properly end the call is to yank the cord out of the wall socket. Quite the nuisance, really!
