That number +441344935367 looks dodgy to me. I didn’t answer because I didn’t know who it was, and after reading some other folks’ feedback, I’m happy I left it alone. Seems like a scam to me.

My phone flagged it as possible spam, so I let it ring out. Then I got an email not long after saying there’s a hold-up with my Interflora delivery.

I got a voicemail saying it was Interflora and to have a look at my email. They even gave me an order number and used my full name. Since I hadn’t ordered anything lately, I got in touch with Interflora and they said they had no record of it. Seems like a scam to me, not sure what the aim was though.

Like someone else mentioned, I’m worried those positive reviews might be from the scammers themselves. I didn’t receive any DHL package from abroad but they still gave a number. Paying AFTER delivery? That’s rubbish, it never works like that. If you’re not sure, just look at the official app and if it doesn’t show anything, then there’s nothing to worry about. Watch out for those glowing comments here - they’re probably fake too.

After seeing all the comments here, it really sounds like some people have been tricked. Got a call from this number today and I’ve never bought anything from overseas, so I don’t think I owe any customs fees or anything like that. Definitely feels like a scam to me!!!

Got a call from an Asian lady who was really hard to follow, only admitting she was from DHL when I asked. She said I owed a customs fee for a package. I'd just had a DHL delivery from Japan, and she seemed to know a lot about my order which was a bit suspicious. I told her I don’t settle payments over the phone and if there’s anything owing, DHL should contact me in writing. From what I’ve read, DHL usually charge before they drop off or send an email invoice. This felt dodgy to me and might be a scam. Just watch out!

Got a call claiming to be from DHL about import charges for a parcel. They said it was from France, and since I recently had a faulty item swapped out, I almost believed it was legit. Received a call about owing VAT and tax on a parcel - sounds like a total scam to me.

Yeah, it’s DHL just chasing up on import fees. If you’ve got the parcel’s waybill number, you can head over to the “DHL epayments” site (just google it) and enter the number there. That’ll bring up your parcel info and you can pay the charges right away online. If the parcel’s not yours, then it’s clearly a mix-up. Mine got delivered about three weeks ago, but there’s still this import duty that needs settling.

A bloke with a thick accent rang me up saying he was from DHL. He called me by my name and gave a Waybill No, saying I owed import tax and needed to pay through some e-payment system. I did get a package from the EU not long ago, and the number he said matched the one on the parcel. After reading other comments here, it looks like a scam since some call from DPD instead. I don’t get how he got hold of my info though?

Got a call from an Indian bloke, name beginning with S, terrible accent. This is like the third or fourth time he's ringing me. He says he's from DHL and the creepy bit is that he seems to know exactly which sellers have sent me parcels through DHL. He claims I owe a load of import taxes, hundreds of pounds, and wants to get me to pay up. He backs off real quick when I ask for more details or for an email. I've blocked his number now, but I’m really worried about how he got my info through DHL.

Yep, it was actually DHL. The woman on the phone was clear about the package contents and origin. She even mentioned the amount I had to pay and said I'd get a text confirmation. I looked it up using the tracking number and sure enough, there was an import duty due on the Smart Garden I bought online (had no idea it was shipped from Estonia). I paid the fee online and then received a message about the duty owed. Everything seemed legit and straightforward.

I’m pretty sure this is one of those scams where they ring pretending to be DPD, saying you owe import tax on a parcel you supposedly ordered. The actual company I bought from already told me my parcel is with UPS and on the way. Definitely don’t give these lot any money! It’s a bit worrying because they had my address and knew what I’d bought, so it does make you second guess if it’s legit.

I received a phone call on the 17th of December 2020 from someone speaking with what sounded like an Indian or Pakistani accent. They left a voice message purporting to be from DHL, but I could barely catch everything they said. What stood out was their mention of a valid Tracking Number, along with a demand for £105 concerning import duties that were apparently outstanding. Given the circumstances, I’ve decided to reach out to DHL through other channels just to be on the safe side, in case this is some sort of fraudulent attempt.

Beware of DHL scams! If you recieve calls claiming you owe shipping fees for something coming from overseas, it's probably a scammer trying to rip you off. They pester you nonstop for money. A guy with a thick Indian accent tried to tell me I owed £36 for shipping. I told him DHL would have to come to my house and speak to me face to face. Then he just hung up on me! Don’t give these fraudsters any cash.

They’re still trying the same trick even now. Got a call about some scarves I supposedly ordered from China and needed to pay £15 to get them. I was a bit unsure at first since it sounded kinda suspicious, but he didn't ask for any money - just wanted to make sure we'd got an invoice (we hadn't, since our address was out of date). If you weren’t expecting a call or invoice, just ring them back on an official number and pay like you usually do, not through a random call. Always double-check the invoice is real before paying. Their accounts number is 03442480777 (this one’s on a proper invoice).

Got a call from this number 02082667989, some bloke claiming to be from DHL saying I needed to pay £23.10 for tax on a parcel I already had. Hung up right away and then got in touch with DHL’s customer support, who confirmed it wasn’t their call at all.

Got a voicemail from this number left on my phone, some woman with an Indian accent said it was DHL about import charges on a parcel. I’d already gotten the parcel earlier that day - it was just Xmas cards and calendars mailed from the U.S. by family, not something I ordered. Not sure if it’s a scam but I don’t want to cough up the £29.25 they say I owe. They told me to ring 03442090102 to sort payment out but I haven’t called back. Seems very dodgy so I’ve put the number down as Unknown. If it actually is legit, what happens if I don’t pay?

This is definitely not DHL, it’s a scam. I’m waiting for a DHL parcel and already paid insurance at the start to cover taxes. The guy on the phone was polite and didn’t rush me, but he said I could “pay now over the phone” to speed things up. I nearly went for it but something felt off so I asked for an email. He didn’t have my email but somehow had my home number. After checking the DHL site, they never ask for tax payments like this. Don’t get caught out by this!

This morning I got a call from 02082667989 claiming to be DHL, saying I owed import tax on a parcel I already received. Since I’d had previous calls about this package, I didn’t suspect much at first. But I knew the company I bought from had already covered the tax because I have the receipt. They had my name, the origin of the parcel, and the name of the company I ordered from. They said I needed to pay £15 and if I didn’t get an email or text, I should just ring the number to sort the payment.

Some bloke said he was from DHL and told me I owed VAT on 2 parcels. He asked if I’d got a text with a payment link. I said no, then he said he’d send it again. I ended the call cos it felt dodgy. I’m only expecting one parcel, not two, so it didn’t add up.

Some bloke from India ringed me up, asked for me by name and knew I had a parcel coming. He said there was some customs charge I had to sort! I told him I'll pay once I get the proper details like usual. How on earth are they getting my info? Feels like someone on the inside is helping them!!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent about paying customs fees for a parcel I’m waiting on from the US. She had loads of info about my order and even some personal stuff. I told her I’d sort the payment through DHL’s proper online system and ended the call. If this is legit from DHL, they ought to warn customers waiting on international packages that these calls might happen - and also share the number they’ll be calling from.

Some bloke with an accent called me, asking for money for a parcel supposedly coming from Fiji. I've actually only ordered something from Australia, and he wanted me to pay right then and there on the phone, which I refused. He told me he'd email me, but so far nothing. He somehow had my name, phone number, email, and even knew what I'd bought. If this is a rip-off, it’s pretty creepy. I just tried calling back the number he used, but it just said "number not recognised - please try again." Sounds like a total scam to me.

Yesterday, I paid a customs fee to DHL through a text message, and then today I got a call from a man with an Indian accent asking me to pay the exact same amount again. It felt really suspicious, so I just hung up. I'm convinced it's a scam - seems like someone connected to DHL might be leaking info!

I can't quite understand why loads of folks are having problems. They rang me up saying I owed £15 for import fees on a parcel and asked me to ring them back on 03442090102, which is actually a real DHL number. But I logged into DHL's official epayment site myself, entered my tracking number, and it showed my details along with where my package was from and going to. Just don’t pay anything over the phone, and always double-check on DHL’s website and their payment portal before you pay.

I got a ring after I received a bill from DHL. The invoice had a code to enter on their site, which showed info about a recent parcel, so it seemed legit. The person on the phone also knew the exact amount on the bill and recognised me. Everything seemed to be above board.

I got calls from this same number saying I needed to pay tax for my parcel. I actually received my package yesterday with no issues from DHL at all. Now these people are ringing from that number again, but I'm not picking up. DHL even has a fraud warning on their site. Also, has anyone ever had a parcel released by UK Customs without paying first?! Yeah right, like they’d let you keep it and say pay later. Sounds totally dodgy to me!!!

I rarely pick up calls from unknown numbers just to be safe, and today was no different. Got a call from a lady with an East Asian or Indian accent claiming to be from DHL, saying I needed to pay customs fees for a parcel I’m supposedly expecting. It felt like a total scam since the parcel I ordered hasn’t even left the sorting centre yet. What’s weird though is how they seemed to already know my details and that I’m expecting a delivery. I’ve reached out to DHL customer support to check if there’s any truth to it, but I’m pretty sure it’s fake.

Got a call from an Asian guy saying he was with DHL asking for £20 for import fees, using correct info about a package I’m expecting. DHL normally send me a letter first and then I pay if it’s needed. I tried ringing the number he called from but it was dead. DON’T send any money. It’s a scam. Just wait for the real DHL to send you a bill. It was really hard to understand him too.

Got a call from an Asian lady who was just spewing out a bunch of nonsense I couldn’t make sense of. When I asked her to say her name and the company she was calling from again, she instantly hung up. I’m waiting on a DHL delivery, but they normally send me a text or email about any duty charges. Feels like a scam, maybe someone who’s somehow got hold of DHL’s parcel info. I’m planning to report this to DHL straight away.

I just got a call from someone speaking with a pretty thick Indian accent. He kept telling me I had to pay some sort of customs fee here in the UK for a parcel supposedly coming from overseas. When I asked for details, he couldn't explain anything and told me to pay 18 quid using a tracking number. Then, out of nowhere, he cut the call. Tried ringing back but the number just won’t go through. Very suspicious!

I just got a voicemail from a bloke with an Indian accent saying I owed £18 for a parcel. After listening a few times, I finally got the tracking number right. I checked on DHL’s site and found my parcel, which hasn’t even left the original country yet. I signed up for their SMS updates, but nowhere does it say there’s any fee or duty to pay. I reckon some scammers have got hold of my real parcel info and are trying to con people out of money with fake duty charges. If DHL messages me directly, I’ll pay them online, no worries.

Two blokes phoned me on my mobile, each claiming to be from DHL. They told me I needed to pay customs charges - one said it was over £85, the other mentioned something like £21. One of them even threw a reference number at me. Felt a bit dodgy, if you ask me.

Received a call from a lady with a South Asian accent saying she was from DHL. She didn’t speak English clearly enough for me to follow. She told me I owed money for a new parcel which supposedly had import charges, but I know for a fact there weren’t any because I checked with HMRC before the parcel was sent. So I’m not sure why she or DHL thought there was a balance due. When I asked her to slow down and talk clearer so I could understand properly, she just hung up. I’m somewhat leaning towards this being connected to DHL, but I really doubt it was a fully legit call.

Today I got a call about a DHL parcel I supposedly just got. Couldn’t pick up so I heard the voicemail instead. The lady’s voice sounded south Asian. I didn’t catch much apart from her saying I need to pay some duty on the package. She wanted me to phone back a number, but she spoke really quickly and with bad English, so I didn’t get the number properly. I tried calling the number left but it just wouldn’t go through. Now I’ve blocked the caller. DHL really needs to check this out because it feels like this person either works there or knows someone who does.

Just like you, I got a call from the number ‭020 8266 7989‬, with a woman saying she was from DHL. She sounded south Asian and knew quite a bit about my parcel - she even confirmed my name, the tracking number, and the exact item I had ordered. She said I had to pay customs fees and asked for my email address. When I tried ringing the number back from a blocked caller ID, it said “this number is unavailable.” Watch out for who you buy from because it’s possible your details got shared with scammers. I bought trainers from China, so it’s likely they are involved in the scam too.

Strangely enough, this number does belong to DHL, yet I received a dodgy phone call from it earlier today! Can you believe it? Scammers have become quite crafty in disguising their calls, making it tough for folks to tell what's genuine. I absolutely detest these kinds of calls!

Got a call on my mobile from a guy with an Indian accent telling me there was a parcel arriving from overseas, but I needed to pay a £21 customs fee. He mentioned I’d get an email about it, and if I wanted the package, I’d have to pay up. Then he asked if I needed help with anything else. I was in a hurry so just said alright, goodbye. Still haven’t seen any email, so I reckon it’s a scam.

Today, I got a call from this number saying I owed customs fees for an Amazon parcel coming from China. A lady with an accent that seemed like she was from somewhere in South Asia said she was from DHL. She told me I'd get an email confirming the package delivery once I paid up. Sounds fishy to me, looks like a scam.

Just got a call from this number saying they’re with DHL and asking for duty payment. We’re a business and it seemed like they knew exactly when a package was due and where it was from. The lady (sounded Indian to me) mentioned she’d send a link to pay online - but never sent anything. Really wondering where they’re picking up their info from!
6 years
This is for real, honestly! It's not from HMRC, it's DHL. You've got a parcel coming and there's some duty to be paid. I'd be kinda cautious about handing over card details on the phone if I didn’t already know about a parcel, so don’t feel pressured to pay up if you’re unsure (and never give out personal info to random callers). By the way, this seems to be an Indian call centre. If you haven’t got a message from DHL already, ask them for the tracking number and check online on DHL’s site to see the charges and pay there safely.

Got two calls from some foreign sounding people, hard to make out what they were saying, saying they're from DHL. They seemed to know about a parcel I'd got, but asked for cash for taxes, each call with a different amount. Said I could pay online through a link. I've blocked the number now.

Im writing for a Ltd Company with a DHL account. This call is from DHL, representing HMRC. This isnt a scam, its a legit company collecting import tax & duty on HMRCs behalf. If you dont pay over the phone, youll need to do it online. You might already have the items, but if you dont pay, HMRC will chase you for the money. Lots of items bought online come from abroad, and youll be charged duty between 3-12% plus 20% import VAT.

Someone called saying they were from "DHL Customs," whatever that is. They said I needed to pay import fees. They had the tracking number and the location where my package came from. When I asked for an invoice, they told me to wait until the parcel arrived. They didn’t have my email but somehow had my phone number. I reckon they might’ve hacked DHL’s system. My parcel still hasn’t shipped because of the pandemic. Total SCAM.

DHL don't ever phone you asking for your personal info! They always email you and send a message with a link to a safe site where you can pay. This number is definitely a SCAM! Don't ring back or share any details with them.
