While I didn’t get the opportunity to conduct an in-depth investigation, I strongly suspect that the caller was up to no good. Every aspect of my interaction seemed to support that notion. I couldn’t uncover anything to suggest otherwise.

Got a call from a woman asking for someone named Tom. I told her no-one by that name lives here and she just hung up on me straight away. Tried ringing the number back to let her know how impolite that was, but it went to voicemail for Wolters Kluwer. Number’s blocked now. 0208 2471100.

I picked up the phone and there was silence for like 20 seconds before they just ended the call.

I've been getting calls from this number at my accounting firm on a pretty regular basis. I think it's Walters Kluwer, they do tax software stuff, probably trying to push their products. The annoying bit is that when I pick up, there's never anyone there, just dead silence. It's become a bit of a pain really.

I reckon this number is from Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting UK, they’re the ones behind that accounting software. As an accountant myself, I get ringed by it quite often, but it’s always dead silent when I pick up. Feels like one of those auto-dialer sales calls, no-one actually on the line to chat. Bit annoying if you ask me.
