However, this particular number got through while I was unable to answer, and I received a voicemail pertaining to some sort of bank security issue. To be honest, I didn’t even bother to listen to it. Since I'm using a landline, I was able to use 1471 to trace the number. Here’s where it gets rather concerning: the number that called me began with the 0208 code, which is the same as my local area. When I decided to ring it back, expecting that it might be related to my GP or perhaps the local hospital, given my husband’s serious health condition, I was met with a company that not only didn’t recognise the number but also claimed they weren’t from around here.
