It seems there’s a rather dubious scheme floating around regarding a so-called Facebook cash giveaway. The premise is you’re asked to fork out $3,500 into a Bank of America account linked to some chap with a Nigerian name, and then lo and behold, a check for $150,000 is meant to arrive via UPS. They’re making wild assertions about it being sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI. Oddly enough, the bloke claims to be an agent named Frederick Richard, but his grasp of English leaves much to be desired. Quite the conundrum, wouldn’t you say?
