Got a call from a London number that said it was from BT or something like that. They kept going on about my IP address being public instead of private, and said there could be some risks because of it. Can't really tell if it's legit or just some scam trying to freak me out.

After seeing my earlier comment, I decided to check out BT's site about scam calls. Turns out, they specifically warn that calls like these are SCAMS. Definitely best to block any number like that and let others know too.
