Indeed, the individual in question goes by the name of Denise. He appears to be rather elderly and has repeatedly mentioned that his car has been sold. Despite this, he continues to call incessantly. It's clearly a scam, so I would advise against engaging with his selling attempts.

I recently received a rather irate call from a girl named Denise, who exclaimed something like, "Hello, is the car STILL available? Call DENISE immediately!" It was unmistakably yet another one of those dodgy schemes. I’m genuinely astonished that trading standards haven't put a stop to these shenanigans yet!

A young lady called to propose that she could help sell our car, which we've listed on eBay. She promised that she'd find a buyer within a month, or else we’d receive a complimentary holiday for two. The fee for this service was quoted at £99. We thought it sounded a bit suspicious and opted to decline the offer, as it felt too fantastic to be genuine.

I've just received a voicemail from someone named Denise on the number 0208 2161567. Did a bit of digging and stumbled across all your remarks about her. Much appreciated! It looks like we’ll be steering clear of any dealings with her.

I’d like to extend a hearty thank you to all those who’ve contributed their thoughts on this forum. Since we listed our car for sale, this number has been bombarding us with calls. It was only earlier today that we decided to search for this number, which brought us to this site. We noticed ‘Denise’ had called us. We mentioned that we had sold the car, only to be met with a tirade about what a colossal waste of time and money it was for him to ring us! We think it’s crucial to expose this scammer before they have a chance to deceive anyone else.

Today, 24th November 2010, we received a call from this number. The lady on the other end was rather rude, and I can't help but feel it's a bit dodgy!

We've just received a call from the very same number for the same reason! It’s all rather peculiar, isn’t it? This number just won’t stop ringing, it’s becoming quite tiresome!

Indeed, the chap's name was Denise. He appears to be rather elderly and seems to be well-versed, given the considerable time he's been at it-selling that vehicle, or so he claims. Nevertheless, he keeps ringing her incessantly; it’s obviously a scam. Best to steer clear of any dealings with him!

I also received a call from this number and had a hunch it was dodgy, and it turns out I was right! Cheers to everyone for confirming my suspicions.

I received a call moments ago, just like the one mentioned by the previous commenter. It’s another one of those tiresome scams, “I can provide an offer for your car... but it'll cost you.” It’s the same old story that crops up right after you list your vehicle on Autotrader. Best to ignore these chancers; they'll lose interest and go elsewhere eventually.

We just received a call just now from his troublesome partner.

We received a call from a lady proposing to purchase our vehicle for the asking price of £99, to be paid over the phone. We turned down her offer and made it clear that we would prefer to deal directly with the buyer and sort out the payment ourselves. However, she was unwilling to go that route. Instead, she claimed she would issue a refund once she secured funding to assist the buyer in completing the purchase of our car.

We advertised our car on Autotrader, and a woman got in touch saying that she was interested in purchasing it at the asking price. However, she mentioned a fee of £99 for the transaction. We agreed but asked her to deduct that amount from the sale price. She refused, insisting that we pay it over the phone using our card. We decided to ignore the call. Upon doing a bit of digging on this website, we've realised we aren't alone in this experience. We've made up our minds to report this to the authorities. Grateful for the shared insights online.

I recently received a call from this number shortly after we listed our car on Autotrader. We chose not to respond since we were both at work, and I thought it best to look up the number to identify the caller. I'm relieved we didn’t get back to them now! Cheers to everyone for the advice!

Just like others have mentioned, I've received calls at this very hour that seem like typical scams. It’s that annoying "I can provide a buyer for your vehicle, but it'll cost you" nonsense. It’s something you encounter almost immediately after listing your car on AutoTrader. Honestly, these scammers will simply shift their tactics and continue bothering someone else.

We recently placed an advert on Autotrader, so I reckon this was likely one of those scam calls.

Thrilled that we decided to look up the number and stumbled across all your thoughts, folks! We've been battling to sell our car and nearly accepted an offer. Isn't it amusing how these things often come back to Denise? Since listing our motor on Autotrader, we’ve been bombarded with emails from folks keen to buy, claiming they'll pay with a bankers draft. Upon digging a bit, it turns out their addresses are all dodgy! It's incredible how these scams seem to thrive, isn’t it? I'm genuinely taken aback by how rampant this issue is!

I can't believe these individuals are still at it. I noticed a missed call on my phone from that number (02082161567), so I decided to look it up, and this site popped up. These scammers are utterly shameless! If you get a call from them, don’t bother returning it; they’re nothing but a bunch of tricksters. Stay vigilant, folks!

We also placed an advertisement in Autotrader, as we received a call from this number which we didn’t recognise. It seems to be a missed call. I’ll bear this in mind moving forward. Cheers for sharing your insights!
