Got a call from this number saying I was linked to some tax fraud, so I just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from this number saying I was involved in tax fraud and there was a case against me. They claimed to be from HMRC and warned that if I didn’t answer, I’d be arrested. When I asked how I could be sure it was really HMRC, the caller dodged the question after asking for my name and address. He said my name was on some watchlist and that I owed tax money. Thing is, I’ve been a student for the last four years! Then he just hung up. It’s obviously a scam. If you hear anything about pressing 1 to avoid arrest, just hang up immediately.
