I’ve been plagued by persistent calls from this number, and it’s driving me bonkers. Occasionally, I answer to nothing but dead air, and other times there's a cacophony of background sounds, yet no one engages in conversation. I can’t shake the feeling that this number might pose some kind of risk.

i got a call from a lady with a clear english accent, she asked for me by name and said it was time to renew our insurance for the washing machine. i told her we never signed up for any washing machine insurance, then she just hung up on me. feels like the same lady rang from another number about half a year ago tryin the exact same thing.

Got a call from a woman who kept asking if I was Mr 2222 (which is my name). I kept asking who she was, but she just repeated the question. Then the line just went dead. Guess it was one of those annoying spam or cold calls.

So this bloke called up, like always, checking in on how I was, then tried to chat about some washing machine insurance. Thing is, he didn’t have a clue about my machine - not even how old it is! I asked if he was aware of the telephone preference service and he said “no, I’ll check that for you”. Told him about it but he kept insisting it wasn’t a cold call. He was pretty stubborn but finally gave in and hung up.

Clearly a con artist. There was the unmistakable din of a call centre before the person on the line even uttered a word, and then they had the audacity to use my name, which really got under my skin. I hung up straight away and swiftly added the number to my blocked list.
