Got a call from a London number and they already knew my first name. When I asked where they got it from, they claimed I’d signed up for some competition - totally not true! Then they said they weren’t trying to sell me anything (sure thing!). They wanted me to do a survey to see if I could get a free loft insulation check (ha, as if! I live in a flat with no loft). I told them I’m shielding due to being vulnerable to Covid, so no visitors thanks, and ended the call. Pretty obvious it was just another scam!

there was the regular irritating pause beforehand, then some weird robotic accent, woman pretending to know me and kept asking for my name. i wasnt going to sit through their usual load of rubbish and lies so i just ended the call straight away. they always do this stuff! i made sure to report it straight away on bt.com/scams. hopefully if enough of us report these dodgy scammers, they’ll get shut down on my bt landline, which is tus 3may 0208 1943376.

This morning at precisely 3:14 am, my peace was utterly shattered by a persistent caller who rang me four times in a row! Naturally, it roused me from my slumber. In a fit of irritation, I picked up the phone, yearning to unleash my frustration on this nuisance, but just as I did, the caller immediately hung up! To make matters worse, each time I attempted to return the call, all I got was a continuous engaged tone. What a dreadful experience!
