When I inquired about his name and the company he represented-since it was all a bit muddled at the start-he handed me the number 02081940036. Oddly, my screen showed 01277168004 instead, and the company’s name sounded something like Advised Bite Co. I thanked him for the information and mentioned that I now had enough to report him to the police for these unwelcome calls. Just as I was about to finish my thought, he abruptly hung up. On the first occasion, I simply placed the receiver down on my desk and let the line run. After a while, they hung up and rang me back, asking, 'Why did you do that?'
