TOTAL SCAM. I got a call from a lady with a northern accent who said my business had backed some kind of road safety drive for a nearby school about half a year ago. She even mentioned my full name and the school’s name. I said I had no idea about any of it, and she quickly agreed it must be a mix-up. From what I’ve heard, they usually push harder, trying to make you admit you signed up for something before.

Scam alert - I got a call from someone claiming to be with the education department, saying I had agreed to pay £289 last May for school books to be delivered to a nearby school. When I challenged it, the woman said she had a recording of my consent and tried to patch me through to that department. Just as she was about to, the call got cut off.

It was a complete rip off, so I called her out on it, and she just cut the call straight away.

She said her name was Laura Harrison and acted like we’d already discussed it. When I challenged her and asked for evidence because we never agreed to anything, she just ended the call. I’m not trying to sound racial or anything, but she managed to convince me since she spoke with a British accent, unlike the usual scammers who often have South Asian accents.

Whenever I say he's not around or I try to get her name, she just ends the call.
