5 yearsOn Thursday, November 18th, 2021, I received a call from someone with a 'withheld number' claiming to be "Jack", a Sales Executive at "P Y G". He was keen on persuading me to renew my washing machine insurance for a hefty £60 a year for the next three years, insisting that I pay via debit card straight away as my current cover was purportedly set to expire that very day. Oddly enough, there hadn't been any documentation sent my way beforehand, purportedly due to the pandemic - but apparently, they planned to send me the paperwork post-payment. Jack mentioned he'd have to step away to provide his telephone number, which turned out to be 02081911309. Naturally, I cut the call short and rang the number, only to find it belonged to Home Protect Direct, who had no knowledge of P Y G and confirmed they don’t handle renewals.
