Got a call on Wednesday 17 June 2020 around 1.30pm from an automated female voice with an American accent saying she was from HMRC and there was a case against me. It went straight to voicemail so I saved the recording and emailed the full message over to [email protected] when I reported it. Definitely one of those phishing scams going around.

I got a call on Wednesday, 17th June 2020 at precisely 1:32 PM. An automated voice, distinctly female and sporting an American twang, said she was from HMRC and mentioned a case lodged against me. The call ended up in my voicemail, so I forwarded the recording in its entirety to [email protected] for reporting. It’s clearly a phishing scam that’s doing the rounds.

On the 17th of June 2020 at 1:40pm, I got a call from 02081873512 claiming to be HMRC and saying I had a case against me. Since all my stuff with HMRC is sorted, I knew straight away it was a scam. I rang back the number, and when I asked who I was speaking to, the person on the other end just hung up. Clearly not a genuine call from HMRC!

Got a voicemail from a woman with an American accent but she never said which company she was with. This is the third time they've called me from this number and I've just been ignoring it.

I ignored the call at first, but later got a voicemail with a robotic voice telling me "don’t ignore this message." After that, another voice came on giving some sort of menu, asking me to press 1 or 2. I didn’t press anything since I’ve heard these are scams that can end up charging you loads. If the call was legit, they’d just tell you what it's about straight away, not make you guess by pushing buttons. My advice: just don’t pick up.
