The caller ID showed "possible fraud" but they claimed to be from RCN. Like others have said, I've signed up with RCN myself and like someone else mentioned - maybe their systems got hacked? Best to avoid talking to them. They are definitely NOT RCN.

If you look up the RCNi site, this is actually the official number they use to get in touch: 0208 167 4683. They say, “To help confirm a call is legit, we stick to just one number. The person calling will also make clear they’re ringing from RCNi.” I usually just don’t pick up anyway, we do loads and already pay plenty as nurses, honestly.

The call came from RCN. I phoned their official number and this person was part of their marketing crew. It’s definitely NOT a scam. They told me marketing operates separately from the main membership, so all they’ve got is my name, membership ID and phone number. When the person on the phone asked for my bank info, I hung up and called RCN straight away who confirmed the number was legit.

Someone rang saying they were from rcn looking to confirm a subscription. Told me I could get online covid resources through them and it sounded quite believable. They asked first for my sort code, which I gave, then wanted my full bank details. I asked why they needed that if they had my membership number already, and they said it was for a different subscription. They kept pushing but seemed pretty genuine. I didn't feel comfortable giving out full bank info over the phone, so I declined. They accepted that and ended the call politely. They did have my email and membership number though.
