5 yearsSomeone called claiming to be from the consulate in China, and then started talking in Chinese.5 yearsI picked up the phone yesterday and all I could hear was silence before the call just died, seems like it was one of those scam calls.5 yearsGot yet another call about washing machine insurance today. So annoying!5 yearsGot a call from a woman with an English accent, sounded like she was in a call centre. She was trying to sell me some bogus washing machine insurance. Total scam.5 yearsI’m not exactly sure who rang me, but when I tried calling back I just got a dialling tone, so I’m fairly certain it was some kind of scam.5 yearsI got a call from a lady who wanted to pitch some insurance on my mum's household appliances. She said she was with a firm called White Goods Protection UK.White Goods Protection UK5 yearsGot a call from a number I didn’t recognise but they didn’t bother leaving a message.5 yearsGot a call from someone claiming they were offering to renew my washing machine insurance, which is odd because I’ve never had any insurance on it. I kindly told them no thanks and ended the call.5 yearsI got a phone call about some kind of washing machine insurance but they couldn’t give me any details about my actual machine or when I got it. Then, right after, a lady rang me from a mobile number saying I’d apparently called her about some HMRC debt I’d supposedly not paid. Seems like a scam to me. I’m definitely going to get in touch with my phone company about this.HMRC5 yearsGot a call from some bloke called Christian, saying he was with white goods protection and asking for our bank info to renew insurance on our washing machine. We told him straight up we’re not about to hand over bank details to a random cold caller, and he got really rude and aggressive, claiming he could just pull our info up anyway. When we asked for his company name and if he could post us some paperwork first, he lost his temper again and kept hassling us for bank details. He tried to argue that anyone you write a cheque to has your details too, but we pointed out you usually know who you’re sending cheques to, unlike some guy suddenly demanding our bank info and getting all offended when we said it sounded dodgy and suggested he find better things to do. The call ended with Christian throwing a little tantrum and saying he’d cancel the so-called policy because proving who he was became “too difficult.” Honestly, I wouldn’t trust this number at all! 😂Christian5 yearsYou can usually tell it’s a scam when the caller gets rude right off the bat, just for asking a polite question. It was a bloke on the phone, claiming to be from a washing machine company I’ve never heard of. Wrong day, wrong number, and he definitely didn’t get what he wanted in the end. Job done, scam blocked.Submit Your Own Report (020 8162 9728)
