Some bloke called saying they got our number from a green energy list. Said our loft insulation was causing damp and wanted to come check it out. But since a mate of mine, who owns a well-known local construction firm, did the loft, I knew it was dodgy. I told him we’re on the Telephone Preference Service and that this call was illegal. Got a call off some bloke saying he’s from the government about insulation. Told him to shove off with all that rubbish and ended the call. Seriously, how has this geezer not been done for harassing people yet?

A bloke named Matt rang me claiming to be from some 'government department'. He said there was an issue with my loft insulation being unsafe and wanted to set up a date to check it out at my place. Proper worrying! I asked him when the insulation was put in originally. He kept going back to the government agency story, so I asked again about the installation date. Then he just ended the call.

Initially, it rang my mobile, so I put a stop to it. Then, out of the blue, it attempted to contact me on my landline! Fingers crossed, I can manage to block this one as well.

They've rang me quite a few times but luckily I've got BT's call blocker so the robots can't get past it. After seeing what others said, I'm pretty sure this is just another scam call.

I received a rather dubious call claiming to have sourced our number from some renewable energy database. The chap proceeded to inform me that our loft insulation was supposedly causing condensation and was looking to arrange a visit for an inspection. Given that it was installed by a mate who runs a highly regarded building firm in our community, I could immediately tell it was nonsense. I informed him that he was making an unlawful call, as we’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service. There was a moment of silence before he conceded, confirming that it was indeed against the rules. Clearly, his training didn’t prepare him for that angle! I mentioned I would lodge a complaint with the ICO and cheekily suggested he might want to wipe our number from his records. He obliged, though I have my doubts about any actual follow-through!
