Got a call from some bloke who called himself John Knight, said he was a senior advisor working for Hunter Brown - couldn’t find anything on that name when I googled it. He seemed to know I was a shareholder for Rio Tinto and was pushing this new one-year bond deal with a 6% interest rate, telling me it closes next Tuesday, which is right after a bank holiday. Thing is, the usual rates for one-year bonds are a bit above 3%, so this offer sounded way too good to be real. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.
