The person on the phone somehow had my name, but they messed up my first and last name like they were just reading it off a screen. I didn’t say anything until I asked who they were. You could hear loads of noise in the background like a busy call centre. The guy said he was ‘Tom’ and claimed he wanted to help me earn money - seemed like a total scam. definitely a call centre calling. they wanted to talk to a ms andrews, but i told the bloke he’d got the wrong number. then he asked who he was chatting to, and once i mentioned how this number’s been flagged loads of times and we weren’t sharing anything, he went off on one, shouting “f### off, hope you rot you horrible b####”. lovely manners.

I received a rather peculiar call from a chap with a distinctly French accent who seemed strangely familiar with my last name. He was rather pushy, claiming that I had supposedly “embarked on some trading adventure” with them and that my account was “dormant”. I was quite taken aback and promptly informed him I hadn’t the foggiest notion of what he was going on about, before ending the call. I couldn’t help but think how his urgency might play on the nerves of someone more impressionable. Curiously, my phone first rang, but there was nobody on the other end, and a mere moment later, this gentleman called me back. Quite the odd experience, I must say!
