6 yearsI got a call from some automated voice telling me I was being accused of not paying my taxes properly. It was all an automated message about a tax evasion notice. Very suspicious!7 yearsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent saying my BT contract was about to end. Seems like a dodgy scam to me!7 yearsThe moment I spotted the number, I had a feeling it was dodgy. So, I picked up and put on my best official tone, saying something like, “CID, how may I assist you?” The bloke on the other end, speaking with an Indian accent, quickly said he must’ve dialled the wrong number, apologised for wasting my time, and then hung up. Felt good to turn the tables on them for once!7 yearsSeems like those lazy foreigners just keep phoning, too idle to get a real job.7 yearsJust got a call a little while ago from a woman who sounded Asian, she was talking about some £3,000 thing for people. Her English wasn’t very clear so I couldn’t catch much of what she was saying. I suspected it was dodgy but was curious to hear more. At one point, she mentioned coming round to my place but got my postcode totally wrong. I made it clear I wasn’t pleased with the call and hung up. She tried ringing me a few more times after that, but I didn’t pick up.7 yearsA bloke with a funny accent called saying he was with the government and mentioned I had £3000 waiting for me from my bank. I listened to his spiel for a bit but soon cut him off and ended the call.7 yearsThis number’s gotta be blocked, sounds like another dodgy scammer up to no good.7 yearsGot a call from a woman with an Asian accent, but her number was hidden so couldn't work out who she was.7 yearsI got a call from someone with an Asian accent, they wanted to speak to me by name. When I asked what they needed, the line just went dead.7 yearsI got a call from a bloke claiming to be Roy Morrison, sounded Asian, said I'd won £3000 compensation for bank fees that were wrongly charged over the last three decades. He then said to get my money, i'd have to pay a 5% government fee, but only through an Amazon gift card. Apparently, a solicitor, supposedly appointed by the government, would meet me and hand over the cheque, and then i'd take it together with the Amazon card to the bank to cash it and settle the fee in one go. I lost interest pretty quick, so didn’t hang around to see how they wanted to rip me off.Roy MorrisonAmazon7 yearsI got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from First Call. She claimed the government had approved a refund for me due to some illegal charges from my bank. I told her my bank actually pays me interest instead of charging me fees. She just hung up after that. Quite new tactic, I guess.7 yearsDidn’t bother leaving a message.7 yearsJust got a call a bit ago, they asked for me by name. I asked who it was and then they hung up straight away. Our number's on the TPS and we've got BT Call Protect too, so I'm puzzled how they managed to get in!Telephone Preference ServiceSubmit Your Own Report (020 8156 9854)
