I got a call like this on the 8th of December. The guy actually knew my name and where I live. He offered me free lottery tickets but then asked me to set up a direct debit for them. He mentioned that from February, there’d be a 5p charge per line if I went ahead. I didn’t agree to anything. I told him I’m sick of dodgy calls and wouldn’t sign up to anything over the phone. I’m curious if those “free” tickets will ever show up. My guess is, they won't.

Around 10.50 on the 8th of December 2020, I got a call from a bloke with a northern accent saying he was from the National Lottery. He told me I’d won 10 free ‘lucky dips’ as a reward for playing the lotto. I had to tell him their details were off. He then verified my address, saying the info had been gathered from a survey. He sounded really convincing though. I told him the call just didn’t feel right and that I’d mark it as an unwanted one. Glad I checked this site, it turns out I wasn’t imagining things. Cheers for that.
