I foolishly enrolled in Shaw Academy’s online classes under the impression that it was a genuine offer, only to discover that it appeared rather dubious. Sensing that something wasn't right, I refrained from providing my credit card information. Almost instantly after signing up, I was inundated with reminder emails pestering me for payment details, and I received two phone calls early in the morning from numbers in London and Bristol, both of which I chose to ignore. Subsequently, I was bombarded with further emails claiming, 'I tried to call you'-which, let's be honest, is hardly the hallmark of a reputable business and raises all sorts of red flags concerning scams. I've since blocked them, as their website lacks the option to easily deactivate my account and instead bombards me with annoying pop-ups begging for my credit card info.

How odd! After receiving calls from a rather dubious number, I've now started getting incessant calls from another London-based number. This time, it's an Indian woman claiming to represent Sky, saying that there's some sort of hacking occurring on my account and that my credit and debit card information is at risk. The peculiar part is that she couldn’t provide me with any details about the account holder, and she hung up quite abruptly. The only people who have my landline number are two relatives, and to top it off, I happen to have permission to use my neighbour's broadband! It was clear from the start that this was nothing to do with Sky at all...

Heard a woman with an Eastern accent like she was in the middle of saying something, then dropped some gobbledygook like "[email protected]" and quickly cut off.
