They claimed to be from Golden Egg Energy and said they could help me save cash by switching me over to People Energy, which they said is an eco-friendly company. They promised to ring me back but I’m still waiting. They said they were a Manchester company, but the number I got was definitely from London. The call dropped and I couldn’t get anyone on the line after that. They asked just for my account number and sort code, apparently enough to set up a Direct Debit, so now I have to keep an eye on my bank account and call them straight away if anything looks wrong. I spoke to three different people: Dylan Pitt, a woman whose name I missed, and another bloke called Cameron. Honestly, best thing is just don’t pick up, then block the number. I’m thinking of reporting this to the cops. They even tried to claim a high rating from Which (used to be Which Magazine, right?). Just spreading the word so folks don’t fall for it.
