This morning, I received a call from someone trying to verify my name and address. The caller had an Asian accent, but then, abruptly, the line went dead. Quite strange, really!

Got a call from some idiot who insisted on speaking to me by name. I wasn't really sure what the bloke was after, but I gave him the classic polite shut down to buzz off and made it clear not to ring me back. Just in case he thinks he can ignore that, I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

There was this bloke who kept muttering nonsense, so I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

This number has called me twice and then there are around 30 other calls from different mobiles pretending to be from "life style". They keep asking for a few mins to answer some questions. I've blocked them already but they keep ringing back. Does anyone know how to stop this for good?

Someone asked me why I don’t have life insurance. I just told them I don’t want it. They kept going on, like, what if you have kids one day? I still said nope, not interested. Then the bloke asked if I was really certain, and I said yeah, for now, I’m good. He said he’d ring me again in a month or something. I told him straight away, no thanks, I’m alright without it.

Got a robocall from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying there's an issue with my Prime account - thing is, I’ve never even signed up for Prime! Obviously just some scam trying to get me to do who knows what.

Got a call from U.K. Choice, they wanted to ask me a few questions about my lifestyle or something like that. They kept calling from loads of different numbers. Bit annoying really as it feels like they’re just snooping about and probably passing your info on to other companies. After that, you get flooded with cold calls non-stop and your phone won’t stop ringing. Just blocked them straight away.

they began with "just 3 quick questions, it'll only take half a minute". i said no thanks, not interested, but they kept pushing. after answering those 3 questions and way more than 30 seconds had passed, i told them i'd already done 3 questions and said goodbye, then hung up.

I noticed this number was seeking to gather quite a bit of private information, like date of birth and home address. Seems a bit dodgy to me and certainly feels like it could be a precursor to some sort of scam down the line. Best to stay cautious!

some woman rang me and already knew my name, she said she wasn't trying to sell me anything but just wanted to ask a couple of questions. i told her i wasn’t comfortable sharing any info, so she just ended the call.
