I told the person who rang that they couldn't speak to me. If you want to annoy a scammer, try being super fast with your reply because they generally only react to the very first thing you say!

Lately, we've been getting loads of annoying calls really early in the morning, waking us up. Whenever I answer, the line just goes dead. I've already blocked loads of numbers using the BT site, but it feels like these nuisance calls come from telecom firms selling large blocks of numbers to these telemarketers, knowing us customers will block them and pay for it - a bit of a catch-22 if you ask me. This particular number popped up after I blocked a bunch just before Christmas, so it looks like a new one that got generated. I guess we’ll see if it keeps cropping up. Honestly, the government should take these harassment calls more seriously and do something to stop them for good.

This morning got two calls from this number. I answered both because I was waiting for someone to ring me. But each time I said hello, nothing, just silence. Strange!

I got a call telling me my washing machine’s warranty was about to run out, and they offered a cheaper renewal. Thing is, I’ve got a 5 year warranty and my machine is barely a year and a half old. I told them they’d have to talk to my son about it, then they just hung up on me.

Got a call today, 31/12/2020, totally random. When I answered, there was this message saying sorry, not available or whatever, so I just ended the call.

There was a long quiet pause before a robotic voice came on saying the person I was calling couldn't get to the phone. Proper daft if you ask me.
