Got calls from Silverlink Technologies, using the number 02081503621. Funny thing is, when you check that number online, loads of folks mention being contacted about British Gas too. Honestly, it really comes off as a sketchy offshore call centre. Best to steer clear of it!

Got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas. They wanted our account info, but I just said no and ended the call straight away.

Today I got a call about renewing our British Gas contract, but we literally just switched to them. The guy asked for our info, and I told him he ought to have it since we’re already customers. Then he read out an account number that wasn’t even ours, so I just ended the call. I rang British Gas straight away and they said it wasn’t from their side at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were from British Gas about my contract renewal for next year. I told them my manager handles all that stuff and ended the call. They phoned straight back asking why I’d just cut them off, and when I told the caller not to use bad language and asked to speak to a manager, they swore at me again and hung up. I tried calling the same number back but got a message saying it was no longer in service. I then contacted British Gas who confirmed they weren’t involved and are now looking into stopping these dodgy calls.

I got a call from a man with a foreign accent claiming to be from British Gas and wanting to talk to the owner. I told him I wasn’t the owner, but he kept insisting on speaking to them. When I still said no, he accused me of being rude. Then he asked why I wouldn’t let him talk to the owner, and I explained they were away on holiday. He then asked for my name, saying he wanted to thank me. I told him he could just thank me without the name and ended the call. Pretty sure he wasn’t from British Gas, so he’s now on my blocked list.

Got a call yesterday from someone saying they were with British Gas. Then today, another call from a person who said they were with SSE. Both of em gave the same callback number, 02032873036, in case I wanted to accept their offer. Price was pricey on both, tho!

I received a call today from a chap with an Asian accent claiming to be part of Eon's renewal team, keen to provide me with some quotes. Curious, I asked him when my current contract expires, but he seemed completely stumped by the question. When I told him to stop bothering me, he had the audacity to hurl some rather unpleasant insults my way, calling me a bloody mother...! Quite shocking, really!

I spent ages on the phone with them after switching from BT to BGas, and they kept telling me my contract was finished. I asked to speak to my business manager and got put through to someone called Michael, who claimed to be in charge. He then said my contract wouldn't end until next year or something. I told him I was certain about the date, but before I knew it, he told me to basically shove it and then the call just dropped.

Got a call on 23rd August from someone claiming to be British Gas. I told them I wasn’t happy with their price increases and then they just ended the call. Then today, another call from someone saying they were from Opus, which is my current provider. I asked for the account password, and they gave me some random numbers. Told them that was wrong, and then they said there was no password on my account. When I said they weren’t really from Opus, they just cut the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas Business. They had my name, address, and even my renewal date, which caught me off guard. I tried to tell them I was too busy to chat, but he kept talking over me. When I said I couldn’t talk, they swore at me! Called me some very nasty names. Somebody calling, saying they was from Scottish Gas and offering some really good deals on renewing my contract. I reckoned it was dodgy right away. So I just played along, gave them a fake name and pretend bank details - account number and sort code all made up. Let them run with it, wasting their time instead.

Some bloke said he was from Eon, right? I told him to put me on their do-not-call list since that was the sixth time that morning we'd had calls like that. Honestly, what’s the point in these call centres - mostly from Asia - pretending to be 'Mark' or 'Sarah' or any other random name? Do they really think that makes us want to sign up or something? It’s proper daft if you ask me.

Got a call yet again from someone saying he was Samir Assan, working for Scottish Power. Absolutely a scam, don’t fall for it. Best thing to do is just put the phone down straight away!

Some bloke rang up claiming he was with British Gas, asking about my gas supply. I just let him jabber on forever, then asked when his van would turn up with the delivery. He seemed confused and said, "I don’t follow, sir?" I told him we actually use bottled gas out here in the countryside. Next thing, he just hung up on me!

Got a caller claiming they were from British Gas, asking for someone who doesn’t even work here. When I told them I couldn’t help without a name, they started calling me rude names. They got really aggressive so I ended the call. They kept ringing back, swearing each time and ended up calling more than ten times straight without us picking up. Proper annoying!
