I had a rather unsettling experience that echoes the previous report. I was merely seeking assistance to link my HP printer with my laptop. Initially, I engaged with what I presumed was an HP automated assistant, who swiftly informed me that a technician would be in touch. In no time, I received a phone call. This 'technician' proceeded to claim there was a problem with the drivers, offering to remedy it for the steep sum of £200, insisting he needed to remotely access my computer. My unease escalated when I noticed him gaining access and, quite alarmingly, personal documents started appearing on my screen, including my banking login page. I quickly severed the internet connection to safeguard myself from what I strongly believed was a scam operation.

I recently had an unsettling experience with a chap named Jason, who claimed he could help me link my printer to my mobile device. However, things took a rather sinister turn when he swiftly gained access to my computer. Before I knew it, he was rattling on about various issues he claimed my relatively new machine had, insisting that it was infested with malware that needed urgent attention before any printer connection could be established. It felt like a classic con job! It's disheartening, especially since Canon was supposed to be facilitating a straightforward printer setup for me. I’m absolutely gobsmacked and now, more vigilant than ever about the possibility of scams. I plan to reach out to Canon today to raise my concerns-it's imperative they ensure such tricksters aren’t permitted to prey on unsuspecting customers and fleece them of their hard-earned cash.

I reckon that post has a serious issue. Their computer’s probably been infected with some spyware now. I’d suggest taking it down to a local computer shop to get it properly checked out. A solid antivirus with a strong scan feature might help as well - I’m a fan of Norton 360 myself. In the meantime, don’t do any online shopping or banking until you’re sure the system is clean. Once it’s sorted, make sure you change all your passwords because the scammers might have grabbed them.

Watch out, these guys claim to offer IT support online but they’re actually scammers. Totally dodgy, definitely don’t get involved!

Ever since I got that call, my laptop's been acting all weird and glitchy.

I received a call from this number which was supposedly a helpline for Canon printers. I reached out because I was unable to get my printer connected to my new laptop - something about a missing driver. The person on the other end accessed my laptop and pointed out several supposed issues with the software. However, I started to feel uneasy when he claimed my security software was out of date, which I knew was false since I had only just set it up. He then proceeded to offer to "sort out" these alleged problems for a hefty fee of £200! Naturally, I turned him down. I promptly terminated the access and removed the software he used to connect. Clearly, this was a scam. I ensured I didn’t share any banking information! Stay vigilant, folks!

I was on the hunt for Canon Printer assistance to get my shiny new printer linked up to my computer when I stumbled upon Computeroid’s live chat support. A chap took over my screen, and, regrettably, I allowed him remote access to my PC. He suggested I pop off for a cup of tea, claiming it would only take him five minutes to sort things out. I had better sense than to wander off, though. It wasn’t long before he declared that he couldn’t establish a connection because my computer had been plagued by malware. He then boldly quoted me £350 to eradicate this so-called Network Malware. In the end, my son managed to hook everything up in mere minutes without any hassle. Later that evening, I reached out to Computeroid's live chat again, and they promised a technician would ring me about this matter. Sure enough, I received a call from a number that set off alarm bells. It’s all a bit dodgy when someone tries to charge that much for a nonexistent issue, isn’t it?

I thought I was reaching out to Canon's customer support, but they wanted to remotely access my laptop to assist with changing the ink cartridges. Honestly, that seemed rather excessive, so I simply logged off. I sourced my information from a reliable website.
