3 yearsI got a call with the exact same spiel, but turns out these scammers had already broken into my O2 account and switched the password out before ringing me up. O2 actually sent me an email alerting me to it. They were after the full answer to my security question so they could order a free phone and charge it to me. Proper dodgy lot.3 yearsWatch out for this number, it’s part of a sneaky scam pretending to be from O2. They even send emails and texts that look like they’re legit O2 messages, but they’re actually fakes. Before getting a call, my O2 account had already been hacked, just like someone else mentioned. These con artists try to trick you into giving loads of personal info by promising discounts on your bill and even a free phone for being a loyal customer. What they really want though is your full credit card number and security code. The big giveaway is when they ask you to give the full answer to your O2 security question instead of just 3 characters like O2 normally requests. If this happens, just hang up immediately and ring O2’s fraud team to get your account locked and looked into.4 yearsI got scammed recently, my O2 account ended up getting hacked. They threw loads of believable details at me, even promised a discount on my monthly bill and a free phone just to hook me in. All they really wanted was my 16 digit card number and the security code. Definitely watch out!4 yearsGot a call from a random number I didn’t recognise, no clue who it was.Submit Your Own Report (020 8146 0757)
