I was attempting to arrange for a surveyor regarding a combination boiler, but the chap couldn’t explain how he obtained my number, claiming I hadn’t submitted any details. The call abruptly cut off, and I was left hanging for about twenty minutes before he rang back, wanting to confirm a booking. It had all the hallmarks of a dodgy operation. He started probing about my address and other personal tidbits, to which I rebutted that if I had indeed filled anything out, he ought to have my details already. I insisted he remove my number from his records, and he merely responded with an 'okay.' Time will tell if that gets respected, I suppose.
