Earlier today, on the 17th of November, 2017, at precisely 1:49pm GMT, I got a rather surprising call claiming I’d been entered into a prize draw by Barclays and had supposedly bagged myself a cool £50,000. The chap on the other end instructed me to pop along to my nearest Barclays branch to claim my winnings. He rattled off a couple of numbers but didn’t request any personal details from me. Out of curiosity, I decided to reach out to Barclays directly, only to discover that the number in question wasn’t even registered with them. Clearly, it’s a scam-do yourselves a favour and avoid picking up these sorts of calls!
