I got a call from someone pretending to be from McAfee. They said they needed to access my laptop and before I knew it, £399 was taken from my credit card to supposedly provide full protection. Really fishy and not what I expected at all.

Steer well clear of this number. They ring up claiming a big transaction is about to go through on your bank account, pretending to be from Visa. Then they try to get you to download some dodgy executable file to “help” track down the source. Honestly, these con artists are a bunch of absolute parasites. If you get a call like this, contact your bank immediately and update all your passwords. It’s beyond me how these lowlifes have the nerve to just carry on like nothing’s wrong - they even said “have a nice day” when I called them out! What a shower of rubbish.
