Got a call from a bloke claiming he was from EON, asking me to go through some "verification questions" before they'd send me a letter. I played along for a bit, but kept telling him I wasn’t the manager and couldn’t really answer some of his stuff. I had a laugh winding him up a bit more, and he ended up just hanging up on me. Some bloke called me with a strong accent claiming to be from our Electricity provider, Eon. But Eon ain't our supplier at all. When he asked who our actual supplier was, I just kept quiet and told him to stop ringing me. Then he just ended the call! I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Lately, they’ve switched tactics and started ringing from mobile numbers, not just landlines. Today alone I’ve had over 20 calls from this particular number and loads of others, both mobiles and landlines, all pretending to be from British Gas or some energy company. They’re proper pushy, trying to get personal details and all that. Luckily, I just hung up straight away and blocked all the numbers. Even after blocking, they keep trying from different ones. Proper annoying!

Tried ringing 020 8144 7731 with 141 in front but it didnt go through, our call history says 3 calls made in a minute but they all went to voicemail straight away once our recorded system kicked in. They must be blocking us or something.

Some bloke with a thick Indian accent said he was ringing from “your energy provider e-o1”, but then quickly added he wasn’t really from E-on - weird right? I started firing off questions and he just hung up on me. Funny timing too, cos I was actually sorting out a new energy deal at the same moment they called. Probably nothing, but felt dodgy all the same.

I got a call from someone pretending to be my energy company, saying I was with EON. I told them I’m actually with British Gas and ended up having a bit of a row before hanging up. Then, a few weeks on, they phoned again asking if I wanted to switch from British Gas to EON. These lot will try any trick to squeeze info out of you. Best just to hang up straight away and block the number.
